Rabbit Hole: Four Bars Deep in a 130-Year-Old Building
Rabbit Hole is less a bar than a choose-your-own-adventure. Behind a heritage facade on the Sparks Street pedestrian mall hides a two-level cocktail bar, a tropical rooftop called Sneaki Tiki, a seasonal street patio — and The Jackalope, a hidden speakeasy you enter through a vintage elevator door. One address, four completely different nights.
The Concept
Opened in 2018 inside a 130-year-old Centretown building, Rabbit Hole pitches itself as the place “where history meets the glass”: exposed stone and red velvet downstairs, rum and lavish garnishes on the roof, and bespoke drinks in the speakeasy, where there is no menu — the bartender builds each cocktail around the guest. Weekend nights add DJs and a dress code that keeps the room sharp.
What to Order
Downstairs: seasonal craft cocktails, fresh oysters — with a dedicated oyster night midweek — pizzas like the Red 6 and White 4, charcuterie and a wagyu burger with a serious following. On the rooftop: tiki drinks under open sky. In The Jackalope: tell them what you like and surrender control.
The Space
Layered and theatrical: original stone walls, red velvet lounges, intimate booths and starlit ceilings inside; a tropical escape upstairs; Sparks Street tables in summer. The deeper you go, the darker and stranger it gets — in the best way.
Who It’s For
Cocktail explorers, birthday squads that want a plot twist, dates that need an ace up the sleeve — and anyone bored of bars that are only one thing.
Good to Know
How do I get into The Jackalope? Reservation only — book ahead, respect the house rules, and dress the part; it is a 19+ room.
Is there a dress code? Weekend evenings, yes — chic and presentable; streetwear stays home.
Does the rooftop run year-round? Sneaki Tiki is weather-dependent — prime season is the warm months.
Is the food an afterthought? No — oysters, pizzas and the wagyu burger make it a legitimate dinner stop.
When do the DJs start? Weekend nights from around ten, when the lounge shifts into party gear.

It was our first time here, and we really loved their pizza (and the mocktail)! My boyfriend and I rarely go out for dinner, because I'm a restaurant cook and I also love cooking at home. But one Thursday evening we deci…
This is an amazing place. The food was so delicious. The oysters were so fresh, the pizza was well made, and the boneless beef was so juicy. The staff was respectful, friendly, and professional. If anyone asks me for the…
Ordered the "Red 2," the crab cakes, and the red berry mousse cake.
Great food, great atmosphere. Everything was delicious. The service was a little slow, but I'm guessing they were short 1-2 staff given how many custome…
A wonderful, iconic spot 🙂 thanks for the hospitality and the good vibes
I was hitting bars in Montreal with my family, and this was our first stop. We really loved the atmosphere. I ordered a cocktail called the "Bad Bunny," kind of like a margarita, and it was very tasty. We ordered fries a…
